Privacy policy

Last updated: 15 October 2026

Privacy is the right to control one’s personal data. This privacy policy describes how TotalSearch AS collects and uses personal data when you visit our websites and when you use the TotalSearch platform.

TotalSearch AS (org. nr. 932 104 776) is responsible for the processing of personal data. This policy provides the information you are entitled to when personal data is collected from you.

Personal data

Personal data are details that can be directly linked to you as an individual, such as your name, email address and digital identifiers linked through cookies. Processing of personal data means any use of personal data, such as collection, registration, compilation, storage and disclosure, or a combination of these.

Purpose of processing

We process personal data to identify you as a customer, to provide the TotalSearch platform and to fulfil the agreement you have with us.

Which personal data we process

We process administrative details such as name, phone number and email address, for example when you sign up for our newsletter, request a demo or create a user in TotalSearch. We also collect personal data linked to your device when you visit our website, including website behaviour.

Valid processing grounds

We process personal data based on your consent, to fulfil an agreement we have with you, or because we have a legitimate interest that does not override your privacy.

Google user data

When you connect TotalSearch to your Google account, we ask for access to the Google services you choose: Google Search Console (read-only), Google Ads, and Google Analytics 4 (read-only). We only access the properties and accounts you select in the app.

How we use it. We use this data only to provide TotalSearch features to you: comparing paid and organic search per keyword, showing reports and recommendations, and calculating budget that can be reallocated. From Google Analytics we read sessions, key events and landing pages for organic and paid search. We never change anything in Search Console or Google Analytics. Changes in Google Ads (for example pausing a keyword or adding a negative keyword) are only made after you explicitly confirm them in the app, and every change is logged.

How we store it. We store an encrypted refresh token and a limited set of report data (search queries, search terms, cost, clicks, sessions and conversions) with our infrastructure provider Cloudflare for as long as your account is active.

Sharing. We do not sell Google user data, do not share it with third parties, and do not use it for advertising. When TotalSearch’s AI agents write an analysis, a summary of the relevant figures is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) solely to generate that analysis; it is not used to train their models. We do not use Google user data to develop, improve or train generalised AI or machine learning models.

Deletion. You can disconnect Google at any time in TotalSearch under Settings, or at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. To have your data deleted, contact app@totalsearch.io and we will delete it within 30 days.

Limited Use. TotalSearch’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Your rights

You have the right to access the personal data we process about you, to request correction if the data are incorrect or incomplete, and to be forgotten, meaning you can request deletion of your personal data unless there is a specific legal basis for continued processing. Consent can be withdrawn at any time. You can also complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).
